Tours and Field Trips-2024-2025
Pre KG to UKG – Aringar Anna Zoological Park, Vandalur – 20.09.2023
As we had the theme “Animals” under Environmental Studies, we chose zoo, so that we can have a look at many animals. Students numbering 66 accompanied by 4 teachers and 5 support staffs visited this time was so apt without rush and children were able to see almost all the animals there.
After we are done with seeing the animals by going on the battery car, we had lunch, played in the park and came back to school. The trip was so enjoyable.
Pre KG
Class I
Class I – Chennai Rail Museum, Villivakkam – 19.09.2023
We chose this place to know all about trains. This place is very appropriate in terms of being within the city and would be very interesting for the children. Students numbering 32 accompanied by 2 teachers and 3 support staffs visited this time.
We saw all the train exhibits, Wagons and other artifacts of the yesteryears kept outdoors. We were even able to get into some of the trains.
Children played in the play park for some time. We watched the AV show about the history of trains and different types of types in different countries.
Class V
Class V – B.M. Birla Planetarium, Kotturpuram – 20.09.2023
This place is devoted to education and entertainment in astronomy and related fields especially space science.
Venturing into the cosmos, the class 5 students numbering 31 accompanied by 1 teacher and 3 support staffs embarked on a mesmerizing journey to the Birla Planetarium. Under the celestial dome, the young minds were transported to distant galaxies, exploring the wonders of the solar system.
The excursion ignited a passion for astronomy, leaving the students with a universe of knowledge to ponder upon.
Class VI
With the increasing globalization and internationalization happening everywhere, we have continued to identify places run by NGOs that offer our students a chance to meet new people, interact with them, thus giving them an opportunity to practice their social skills. Taking them on such tours, offers them a chance to learn about other societies and value other people, their customs and their crafts. These tours are organised for classes VI to XII.
Students of class VI numbering 30 accompanied by 3 teachers went on a 2 days educational tour to Yelagiri on 15th & 16th September 2023. They travelled by deluxe coach from Tambaram and stayed at YMCA Camp Centre & Youth Hostel. The camp is spread over 30 acres of lush green landscape. The camp organizes a number of activities, provides basic accommodation, and simple vegetarian meals. The students were engaged in trekking, sightseeing around the campus. Campfire was also organized.
Class VII
Students of class VII numbering 29 accompanied by 3 teachers went on a 2 days educational tour to Sree Bhagavathi Learning Space (NGO), Kanyakumari on 18th & 19th September 2023. They learnt making hand made craft items using sea shells, palm leaves and natural fibre based products from the women self-group run by the NGO They also went for some sightseeing trips around the campus.
Class VIII
Students of class VIII numbering 31 accompanied by 3 teachers went on a 2 days educational tour to Top Slip, Parambikulam on 18th & 19th September 2023. Top slip is a part of Western Ghats and it is located 800 feet above the sea level on the Anaimalai mountain ranges near Valparai and Pollachi. Students were involved in a number of activities like sightseeing of the unique teak forests, bamboo forests, rich exotic species of plants, wild animals and birds.
Class IX
Students of class IX numbering 42 accompanied by 4 teachers went on a 2 days educational tour to Active Farm School, Telangana on 18th & 19th September 2023. Students were involved in a number of farm activities, tilling, sowing, winnowing and many more. The stay and the activities gave them an experience of an agricultural community and enabled them to understand man’s relationship with nature.
Class X
Students of class X numbering 47 accompanied by 4 teachers went on a 3 days educational tour to Kalari Forest School, Dindigul from 18th to 20th September 2023. Students were involved in a number of activities involving environmental conservation, life skills, tribal culture, fundamental science, arts, etc.
Class XI
Students of class XI numbering 16 accompanied by 2 teachers went on a 3 days educational tour to Keystone Foundation, Kotagiri from 18th to 20th September 2023. Students were involved in a number of activities by meeting local government bodies, representatives from academic and research institutes, non-profit organizations, historians, ecologists, health workers, scholars and more.
Class XII
Students of class XII numbering 27 accompanied by 3 teachers went on a 3 days educational tour to KEEP (Kaigal Education and Environment Programme), Kuppam from 18th to 20th September 2023. The program designed for the students has different components like working on the land, night walks, visit to the tribal Sanctuary Schools and interaction with the students, forest treks meeting with the SHG and so on.
